TRANSLATIONS FROM 2D TO 3D METHODS OF DRAWING

*note:  all selection paths prefaced by a B. indicate the Bentley B symbol or  the view windowÕs Bentley B symbol.

 

1.         Create: simple polygon lines.

circles, arcs.

2.         Bring up the snap tool palette - button bar

                        methods of snapping:

midpoint

centerpoint

intersection

keypoint

nearest

 

Draw in ISO view, start smart-line, use ÒTÓ to flip accudraw  to top mode

                        [ÒSÓ for side mode]

                        [ÒFÓ for front mode]

 

Temp snap/default snap options Ð use tentatives + confirm

mouseÕs pre-settings for tentative snaps:[first/second button Ð or middle button]

 

 

3.           Levels/Color

A. Window menu ÒB.Ó symbol Ð level display
                        Settings/level manager -

            Double-click current level

            Single click - level on/off

B. Settings/level manager Ð

Select unused levels Ð edit/delete

New level icon Ð level 2 Ð mynewlevel

Double-click on name ÒmynewlevelÓ to make it active

                                    [or create via B. Levels> new level]

                        Change levels via:

by level Ð pick color

                                    by Override Symbology Ð pick color

 

Draw element in any other color

                        Attributes menu/color Ð pick ÒbylevelÓ Ð draw new element

                        View attributes  - pick symbology Ð see changes

 

           

             

 

4.     TRANSFORM Commands

Try Inclusive and then Exclusive

EXISTING CELL

Element/cells

Use existing library

Open: program files/Bentley/workspace/triforma/tf_imperial/cell/02_site.ce .bxcair

Place cells in model (body and bench)

 

 

CREATE CELL LIBRARY

Lib1.cell (note 3d seed file)

 

Create two cells Ð cell one and cell two

Sixth icon/right side/main tool palette

Place origin

Fence Cell

Cell dialog box, select ÒcreateÓ button

Cell dialog box, choose placement with Òcell1Ó highlighted

 

Tools palettte

Place cell/uniform scale

Place cell/varied parametric scale

            Try relative/interactive

 

TWO METHOD OF UPDATE

 

Cell dialog box, choose placement with Òcell1Ó highlighted

replace cell1 with cell2 [global .vs. single mode]
