Architecture 5422: Computer Animation Design in Motion
Due: in-class screening Saturday, July 17, 2021 *

Exercise 4: final animation

Create a roughly 1 to 3 minute animation incorporating any of the techniques and areas of emphasis (process, time, light) that we have covered this term into a short narrative sequence (i.e., a conventional story or other type description of events) on a theme or subject of your own choice. This animation should be complete with respect to having a sense of a beginning, middle and end, or of a premise and resolution.

1. The movie should convey a visual or spatial idea.
2. It should provide a primarily visual rather than a spoken narrative.
3. Create one ore more sequences at the same resolution.
4. Pace your efforts over the remaining time before the screening.
5. Render your work in medium high raytrace quality or in V-Ray,
6. Record your work to a jpeg or png  animation sequence(s) and compile the resulting animation in a self-contained mp4 or Quicktime movie format.
7. Place your work under the submit folder named "exercise4" on the CLASSES server or Collab  and email a short 1 to 2 paragraph written description to the course instructor similar to previous exercises

* Per the UVA final exam schedule, the final screening of your animation will be on July 17th on Zoom from 10:30 a.m. to 1 pm. Students with a conflict at that time should contact Earl Mark to see if alternative options are possible.

NOTE:   Make a backup archive of this exercise and of your personal work from the class that you wish retain as we complete the summer session.
