Within this optional assignment, you are to write a short approximately two-page critique of Carol Reed's The Third Man identifying any themes that may be relevant to construction of a visual narrative or other aspects of the depiction of the reconstructed time period, such as the depiction of the city of Vienna, the back drop of the destruction of the city, or the unusual use of the underground sewers to the production and staging of the film.
