In the streaming age, music – a metric of cultural influence – has become increasingly mobile. Today we see newly global genres such as reggaeton and K-Pop joining English-language pop on the world’s charts. This visualization examines airplay of 2017’s songs of the summer which reached the Top 10 on one of 53 regional Spotify charts. Each circle indicates a distinct country in which fans streamed the given track.
